Former Consul General Bashir bags meritorious award

The immediate past Consul General of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the North West and South West Region of Cameroon, His Excellency, Ibrahim Mohammed Bashir, in recognition of decades of meritorious service to Nigeria as a Foreign Service Officer, was conferred with a lifetime title/rank of an Ambassador of the Federal Republic by H. E. President Muhammadu BUHARI, GCFR during an investiture ceremony presided over by His Excellency Geoffrey Onyeama, Honorable Minister of Foreign Affairs held on Monday, 23rd May 2022 in Abuja. Nigeria.

Ambassador Bashir had won several awards while serving in Cameroon including The Guardian Post 2020 Peace and Diplomacy Award among many others. As a young graduate Ambassador Bashir on 11th December 1987, received National Honours Award which was presided by the then Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, GCFR.
