Imo union chairman, encourages Nigerians to invest in Cameroon

The chairman of the Union of Nigerians from Imo State residing in the economic capital city Douala in Cameroon, Honourable Kingsley Okoro, has enjoined his compatriots to invest in their union. Okoro made this declaration during an interview with the Diaspora Magazine recently in Douala.

He revealed the strength of the Imo State Union as togetherness, unity and grace of God, calling his members to go for what he described as wise investments.

“I would like to say that we are stronger in unity and call on all my compatriots to invest in our Union, and they won’t regret it,” he said. Hon. Okoro, known to be a man of few words with a great sense of integrity, took office from his predecessor when a lot of projects had been launched. He also revealed that most of the projects had been accomplished, notable amongst which is the construction of a permanent site for the administrative affairs of the union. He acknowledged the great work which had been put in place by the former chairman, whose term he qualified to have been “great”

“Together with his cabinet, they worked and ensured the peaceful cohabitation of Nigerians from Imo state in Cameroon and also prepared their successful retirement to their home country Nigeria. And in the eventuality of the demise of a member, the Union ensured the transportation of the remains to his or her homeland,” he said.

The city of Douala harbours thousands of its compatriots who are mostly businessmen and women  To this effect, Hon Okoro called on fellow compatriots to remain abiding to the laws of their host country and avoid getting into trouble with the forces of law and order in Douala. He appreciated Cameroonians for their unflinching hospitality to them.

“Ever since I have been in Cameroon, the people have been very good to us, we do our business like one people, you know I love Cameroon; they are good and peace-loving people,” he noted.

Hon Okoro, projected that the Imo States Union would continue growing from strength to strength as the Lord shall grant the grace to keep working for the greater good of all.
