Naija Diaspora Magazine Celebrates Abike Dabiri-Erewa

Naija Diaspora Magazine has congratulated the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. (Dr.) Abike Dabiri-Erewa, OON, on her birthday, commending her commitment to diaspora engagement, the welfare of Nigerians abroad and stronger relations between Nigeria and its global community.

The congratulatory message was issued by the magazine’s Publisher, Ismaila Adegbola, on behalf of the management and staff, in recognition of Dabiri-Erewa’s contributions to promoting diaspora participation in Nigeria’s development.

The publication acknowledged her role in advancing engagement with Nigerians living outside the country and promoting initiatives that encourage them to maintain strong connections with their homeland.

According to the magazine, the Nigerian diaspora remains a valuable national asset, with significant potential to support economic growth, knowledge transfer, innovation, cultural diplomacy and international cooperation.

It noted that sustained engagement with Nigerians abroad could create more opportunities for investment, professional collaboration and the exchange of ideas capable of contributing to national development.

Adegbola said the objectives of NiDCOM align with the magazine’s mission of connecting Nigerians across international borders, celebrating diaspora achievements and promoting the contributions of Nigerians and Africans to global progress.

He described the birthday as an opportunity to recognise Dabiri-Erewa’s service and encourage continued efforts to strengthen relationships between Nigeria and its citizens abroad.

“On this special occasion, we celebrate Dr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa and wish her continued strength, wisdom and success in her service to Nigeria and Nigerians across the world,” Adegbola said.

He also prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and renewed energy for the NiDCOM chief executive, expressing hope that she would enjoy many more years of productive service to the country and humanity.

The magazine further expressed optimism that the coming year would provide fresh opportunities to deepen cooperation between Nigeria and diaspora communities, while encouraging more Nigerians overseas to contribute their expertise, resources and professional networks to national growth.

Dabiri-Erewa heads NiDCOM, the federal commission responsible for coordinating and promoting engagement with Nigerians in the diaspora. The commission’s mandate places diaspora participation among the channels through which Nigerians abroad can contribute to the country’s economic, social and cultural advancement.

Naija Diaspora Magazine said its work complements this objective through reporting that highlights the achievements of Nigerians abroad, amplifies diaspora voices and promotes stronger connections between communities at home and overseas.

The publication reaffirmed its commitment to bridging geographical and cultural divides by showcasing success stories, celebrating African excellence and drawing attention to opportunities for collaboration between Nigerians in different parts of the world.

It added that recognising individuals working to strengthen diaspora relations remains important to sustaining conversations about the role of Nigerians abroad in shaping the country’s future.

The management and staff concluded their message by wishing Dabiri-Erewa a happy birthday and a fulfilling year ahead, expressing hope for continued progress in diaspora engagement and stronger partnerships between Nigeria and its global community.

Naija Diaspora Magazine reiterated its commitment to its guiding mission of **“Bridging the Divide,”** connecting Nigerians across borders and promoting a shared vision of national development through collaboration and engagement.
