The President of the Republic of Cameroon, Grand Master of the National Orders, Paul Biya has appointed Dangote Cement Cameroon Country CEO, Mr. Bertrand Mbouck to the rank of Knight of the Order of Valour as Cameroon celebrates National Day.
Mbouck received his insignia from the Governor, Littoral Region Mr. Samuel Ivaha Diboua at Besseke, during the celebration of Cameroon’s National Day, on May 20th, 2022.
Mbouck has remained one of the steadfast industrialists with positive initiative to promote and extend Dangote Cement as the powerhouse in Cameroon.
“I feel excited for the great honour, I sincerely appreciate the Cameroon government for the wonderful gesture. This is an honour to motivate us to do more. On behalf of Dangote Cement Cameroon, we are assuring more quality products and services. Also to embark on more community services as part of our corporate social responsibility,” said Mbouck.
In 2018, he joined the Dangote Cement group as Regional Director of Pan-African Markets. Its role was to oversee the commercial competitiveness of the member countries of the group such as South Africa, Ethiopia, Senegal etc… with the exception of Nigeria, its base.
Two years later, he replaced Abdullahi Baba and became the new CEO of Dangote Cement Cameroon SA.

Today, he’s an expert in market strategies and competitiveness; he is also a qualified chartered accountant and financier (his basic profession) and registered with three professional bodies: FCCA-ACCA in Great Britain, ONECCA and CEMAC in Cameroon.
Similarly, President/Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote received the highest civilian honour in Cameroon – the Commander of the National Order of Valour – from the President of the Republic, Mr. Paul Biya.
According to Biya, the landmark honour was conferred on Dangote in recognition of his efforts in infrastructural development of Cameroon and Africa through his cement plants. The President, at a conferment ceremony held at the Unity Palace, Yaoundé expressed pride at Dangote’s various efforts to promote industrialisation across Africa through the building of cement plants in several African countries. He noted that these plants have provided thousands of direct and indirect employment at their various locations, to boost the economies of their host countries, just like in Cameroon.
He commended the Cameroonian government for providing an enabling environment, which aided the successful completion of the Dangote Cement plant. He also expressed appreciation for the support provided by the President and cabinet in solving the challenges encountered in the construction of the plant.
